Manual Imprinter
A manual imprinter is still a great method to accept credit cards with. It offers a virtually zero startup cost method to accept credit cards. With a manual imprinter, the merchant takes an imprint of the credit card and gets a phone authorization to process the credit card. This type of credit card processing with a manual imprinter is called an ARU account. A manual imprinter also provides a backup method to accept a credit card if the primary method is unavailable. By using the manual imprinter the merchant is still able to accept the card and does not have to turn down a sale due to not being able to process the credit card. The manual imprinter slips have areas to place all of the customers information and the business information is automatically printed on the slip, using the imprint plate provided by the merchant’s credit card processing bank.
